Low Tide

The solemn grayness stretched before me: holding ancient stories, putty melded by evolution and enriched by glacial silt.

And, I bore somber witness to the rhythmic heartbeat of those arctic waters.

Clad with modern layers to protect me, I heeded caution as I know others before me had stood there too, some swallowed by Mother Earth’s quickened pull.

The horizon spanned into infinity juxtaposed against an ancient spell that once captivated ships and captains.

Now it’s siren echo calls to modern souls as wonder begets wonder; as icy silken waters lap against one era and then another.
